I was touching on some GoDaddy options if you are annoyed with GoDaddy. I was one of the suggested alternatives Bluehost. For those convincing, I’ll show you how to Move Your Website from GoDaddy to Bluehost.
Move Steps GoDaddy to BlueHost
A. Transfer your domain
Step 1: Open Domain Settings
Login to GoDaddy and click on the domain that you want to migrate.
Step 2: Disable Domain Lock
When domain lock is on, make sure to turn it off.
Step 3: Get the approval code
In order to complete the domain transfer, you will need an authorization code from your existing registrar.
Before you click “Get Authorization Code”, please confirm the correct email address you updated with GoDaddy.
If the email is going to [email protected], this means that your email is not properly configured in the Goddess to get the authorization code. So, please contact Godaddy well and correct it.
GoDaddy lets you click on the “Get Authorization Code” to match the authorization code and domain information.

Step 4: Login to Bluehost and enter your authorization code.
Domain options are available under cPanel settings. Click the transfer domain.
Enter your domain name.
Then, enter the approval code received via email.
You will now receive another email containing a second verification code. Enter the second verification code.
Step 5: Change the name server.
Choose the option to update the Bluehost name server.
- BlueHost’s name server is (ns1.blueHost.com) and (ns2.blueHost.com).
Additionally, select a renewal option, update your contact information and agree to the terms of service.
Finish the checkout process.
Step 6: Take a pending transfer on GoDaddy
GoDaddy to go back to the transfer and take the transfer pending.
B. Transfer your file
Step 1: Open GoDaddy Web Hosting Manager
Login to GoDaddy and navigate the web hosting manager.
Step 2: Create an FTP user account
Navigate to FTP Settings and create an FTP user account.
Also, make a note of your FTP address.
Step 3: Download files and folders
Connect your FTP address to an FTP client and download your website files and folders.
Step 4: Upload the BlueHost file
Login to Bluehost cPanel and open file manager.
Upload the downloaded files and folders to the domain directory from your GoDaddy account.
C. Migrate your database
By using a database of your website, you will need to move it along with your domain and file.
Step 1: Login to phpMyAdmin
Under GoDaddy Web Hosting Manager, click phpMyAdmin to access the database.
Step 2: Export database from GoDaddy
Click Export to start exporting your database.
Keep the form of SQL account and select the database name to export.
Step 3: Import the database into BlueHost
Navigate phpMyAdmin into your Bluehost cPanel and import the export database from GoDaddy.
Step 4: Import the database on Bluehost
Navigate to the BlueHost “Database Tools” section and click on “phpMyAdmin”. Create a new database here. Then click on “Import”, select the SQL file and click “Go”.
Your database from Godaddy is now Bluehost!
